Cookie Policy
Last updated: September 4, 2026
This policy explains how CalculatorFunction.com uses cookies and similar browser technologies, and how you can control them.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on a device by a website. Local storage is a related but distinct technology: it also keeps small pieces of information in your browser, but it is not sent to a server with every request the way a cookie is, and it is what this website actually uses for its own settings.
We set no first-party cookies
CalculatorFunction.com's own code does not set a single cookie. Every setting the calculators remember — your chosen display currency, dark or light theme, saved calculator inputs, and favourited tools — is written to browser local storage instead, under names beginning fch-. The table below is the complete list; nothing else is stored locally by this site.
Local storage this site uses
| Key | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
fch-theme | Remembers light or dark mode | Until cleared |
fch-currency | Your chosen display currency | Until cleared |
fch-favorites | Calculators you have starred as favourites | Until cleared |
fch-<calculator> | Saved inputs for one specific calculator, only if you press Save on that page | Until cleared |
None of these leave your device, and clearing your browser's site data for calculatorfunction.com removes all of them at once.
Third-party cookies: analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the website is used in aggregate: which calculators are popular, how visitors arrive, and where pages can be improved. Google Analytics sets its own cookies that record an anonymised visit identifier, approximate location, and the pages viewed; the exact cookie names and durations are set by Google and documented in Google's own materials rather than fixed by us. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Third-party cookies: advertising
This website is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar identifiers to serve and measure advertising, limit how often you see the same ad, and detect invalid traffic. Google may use these cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites.
You can turn off personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of participating third-party vendors at aboutads.info. Turning off personalisation does not remove advertising; it makes the ads you see less relevant.
Clearing cookies and site data by browser
Steps vary slightly by version, but the general path in each major browser is: Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data, or click the padlock icon next to the address bar for this site specifically. Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data. Safari — Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data, then search for calculatorfunction.com. Edge — Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Clear browsing data. Clearing site data resets every local storage entry in the table above back to its default.
Managing your choices
You can block, delete, or manage cookies through your browser controls, or use an ad blocker. Blocking cookies may reset saved preferences but will not prevent you from using any calculator on this website. Browser settings differ, so consult your browser's help documentation for instructions.
Updates
We may update this policy when our services or technology change. Please review this page periodically for the current version. Questions can be sent to hello@calculatorfunction.com.
